Thanks to the multiple awards from Legambiente (4 Vele),the Touring Club and the Foundation for Environmental Education, Sirolo ranks among the top Italian resorts in terms of protecting the natural environment. Furthermore, the rugged shoreline features some of the best crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.

Established in 1987 (European Year of the Environment), the European Blue Flag award is an international recognition awarded every year by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) with the support and participation of the UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) to coastal resorts which succeed in meeting quality criteria in terms of bathing water parameters and the services being provided.

Counting as many as 19 awards, has also received the 20th consecutive Blue Flag of Europe from FEEfor its commitment in complying with the rigorous parameters of sustainable management of the territory, including : the quality of bathing water, environmental education, environmental management and information.
